Newly added reporting enhancements offer more efficiency and speed to Law Enforcement  

The 2023 product improvement roadmap reflects our desire to equip law enforcement with the most effective digital forensics tools. We are excited to share our newest update: Cyacomb Examiner 2.7 release, with thumbnails available in reports.  
Our newly included thumbnails provide additional evidence to support prosecution where appropriate. It makes reviewing the reports fast and efficient. In addition, we have added more speed and flexibility for our users by updating the report format from PDF to HTML.

Easy-to-use philosophy

  • Report layout is still easy to read, even with the newly added data points 
  • Create two reports with only one extra click - one including thumbnails, one without. More options - easy and fast!
  • Reports are moving from static PDFs to our new HTML format. This provides more flexibility after report creation for editing to fit individual user needs. 

More insights

  • Capture the Date/Time that suspects have saved & viewed files   
  • Basic OS Artefacts tie devices to the correct owner    
  • Device serial numbers to easily identify suspect devices and associate illegal content to those devices. 

Safeguarding investigators

  • Reports that include thumbnails will have a warning message on the first page 
  • Thumbnail inclusion in reports is optional and can be limited on dongle-based software  
  • Thumbnails can be included in greyscale to minimise the impact on viewers.
